# Delete Payment Instrument

Closes a PaymentInstrument that is no longer needed, for example after a refinance completes or when a funding relationship ends. Supported only for PaymentInstruments of type `inbound_achwire_payment`.

Closing a PaymentInstrument updates its status to `closed` and sets `chargeable` to `false`.

Operation Type: ⚡ Synchronous (Your request is processed immediately, and you'll receive a response before proceeding.)

Returns the closed PaymentInstrument object.
